The 5th Edition of the
Pour l'Amour du Fil
(
For The Love of Thread) trade-fair will take place
from
April 24th to 27th 2013 at
La Cité in
Nantes, France.
In 2012, there were more than 10.000
visitors at this event which attained international
heights.
It is within this same
colourful, warm and jolly
atmosphere that we are waiting to see you in April 2013 and
with maybe even more of you wanting to discover new things to do for
handwork !
There will be exhibitions, designers and artists of
international fame from the world over :
Kaffe Fassett & Brandon Mably, Polly Minick
& Laurie Simpson, Di Ford, Anne Woringer, Ségolaine Schweitzer,
Petra Prins, Nathalie Méance (La fée Pirouette)...lodged in
their little "house" furnished and decorated and where they will be
glad to meet you.
Exclusively dedicated to the
delights of thread (embroidery, knitting,
sewing, patchwork....), Pour l'Amour du Fil is the place for
swapping creative ideas and in 2013, you will be able to see
demos on giant screens, together with classes and
workshops for all levels given by our artists and
designers.
More than
one hundred exhibitors from around the
world will be in the Big Hall !
There
will be a big surprise, NOT TO BE MISSED!
This 5th Edition will be marked by an
exceptional occasion
for quilt-lovers from the all over the ! The mythical quilt
'Dear Jane' will celebrate its 150th birthday at the Pour l'Amour du
Fil trade-fair and
it will leave its home for the first time in
the Bennington Museum, Vermont to come to Nantes.
Our special invited personality will be
Brenda
Papadakis, author of the eponymous book sold at more than 109
000 copies in several languages and who, during the fair, will be
offering
conferences and workshops - a real chance to
meet her .
To celebrate all this in style, we are hoping to accommodate as many
world-wide Dear Jane fan clubs as possible !
The organizers are
launching a challenge :
To exhibit 100 Dear Jane
quilts from far and wide (exact replicas or adaptations
are accepted) !
To make room for this enormous exhibition, an extra hall will be
opened on the right hand side of the Big Hall.....

TWO TRADE FAIRS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

In 2013,
Pour l'Amour du Scrap (For the Love of the
Scrap) is moving from Lille to Nantes and will take place at the same
time as Pour l'Amour du Fil.
It will be held a new venue called
La
Grande Galérie de Liaison and the Auditorium Big Hall in the
Cité of Nantes
where you will be able to discover booths,
workshops, shows.....
The whole Cité will be ajoy
!
A new, central site - easily accessible and very well
decorated - will be able to welcome "scrapbookers" who can exchange
ideas, discover new ones and share their passion !
For
those who have experience or even novices : demos, a "giant
crop" and workshops to help you have an unforgettable time !
